About The Program
We are thrilled to over two eight-week, intense study courses of Level 9 and Level 10 History, taught by our very own Dr. J.
Level 9 – This is an overview of the history of concert music of Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern musical periods. Students will be immersed in the lives of some of the most significant composers of these musical periods, listen and engage in in-depth discussion of their music and gain an understanding of the arc of music history and how the events of the times both were influenced by the music and how they affected the places they worked in.
Level 10 – This course looks more deeply into the development of music from the Middle Ages through the Classical period. Students will build on their knowledge from the Level 9 course, exploring musical ideas in a conversational learning space. There will be an emphasis on student input and building on their knowledge of both music history and Level 9 Harmony.
Courses will be offered based on interest. Classes will be twice a week, Monday and Thursday, for two hours each session, either afternoons or evenings, , as agreed upon between teacher and students. By the end of the eight-week course, students will be prepared for the on-line examination. ALL CLASSES WILL BE HELD ONLINE.
