Where acting meets singing
meets belonging.

Musical theatre is the rare art form that asks students to do it all at once — tell a story, carry a tune, use their body, and do it as part of an ensemble. That combination is also what makes it one of the most powerful things a young person can do for their confidence, focus, and sense of self.

SYNERGY's program runs at Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre in Brampton and is built as a full arc: from the first day of ensemble work through to a live performance for parents and guests at the end of every session. No student is left in the wings — everyone has a role, and everyone gets on stage.

The Session Arc

From first rehearsal
to curtain call.

Every session follows a deliberate arc — building skills, building ensemble, and building toward a live performance.

1
Early Weeks
Foundation & Ensemble

Warm-ups, games, and exercises that build trust, listening, and physical awareness. Students learn to work together as an ensemble — the foundation of everything that follows. No prior experience needed.

2
Mid-Session
Character Work & Material

Students explore their roles, develop characters, and begin working scenes, songs, and movement sequences. Acting, voice, and physicality are woven together throughout this stage.

3
Final Weeks
Rehearsal & Performance

The ensemble comes together in full rehearsal — polishing, refining, supporting each other. The session ends with a live performance for an invited audience of parents and guests. Everyone performs.

What Students Learn

Three disciplines.
One performance.

Musical theatre asks students to integrate skills usually taught separately. In this program, acting, singing, and movement are developed together — because that's how they're used.

🎭
Acting & Character
Scene work, character development, emotional truth, physical expression, and ensemble storytelling.
🎤
Singing & Voice
Vocal warm-ups, musical numbers, pitch and projection — and performing songs in character, not just performing them.
🕺
Movement & Staging
Using the body confidently on stage — choreography, blocking, physical awareness, and how movement serves the story.
👥
Ensemble & Collaboration
Musical theatre is always a team effort. Students learn to listen, support, and create together — skills that go well beyond the stage.

"She comes home singing, acting out scenes, and talking about her friends in the group. Watching her perform at the end of the session was one of the proudest moments we've had as parents."

Musical Theatre end-of-session performance SYNERGY Brampton

The live performance at the end of every session isn't just a nice-to-have — it's the reason the whole arc exists. Working toward a real audience changes how students rehearse, how they support each other, and how much they grow.

Parents and family members are invited to an end-of-session showcase where the ensemble presents the material they've built all session. Every student performs. Every student has a moment.
